The Art Health Tracker
We do a lot to keep track our health. We have exercise schedules, journals, activities we partake in, and so much more to take care ourselves. But what if you could track your health through a more creative field? Well, I am happy to welcome the Art Health Tracker. This template serves to help its users track their health through a fun means………Art!
Facts
7 weeks, Sep 2025 - Oct 2025
Programs: Notion, Canva, Pinterest, Gumroad, and Etsy
Role: Product Designer
Problem
Growing up, art has always been an accessible way for me to regulate my health. For many like me, methods like journaling or schedules are difficult to keep track, but with art, we feel relaxed and comfortable managing our feelings. But I found that:
Options for Art Health are limited: There are strategies like art therapy, but that can be difficult to find a practitioner and good cost values.
There are no trackers like this: Many trackers can do journaling and schedules very well, but many lack elements for those who want to express themselves by creativity.
How would such a product exist?: There are many great platforms to create a tracker, but finding the right platform would be difficult.
Target Market
I planned to target users who use Etsy and Gumroad. Not only are their marketplaces big but:
Etsy provides a great marketplace of creative content, especially trackers.
Gumroad is a great marketplace for digital products specifically and is very accessible to first time users.
Goals and Objectives
I decided that Notion was the platform to make this tracker, due its functionality with scheduling and linking to outside sources. Notion was the best choice, but I had some goals to make sure everything went smoothly.
The content involved should both manage the user’s health and provide resources for the user to use.
The template must also be organized, and not too overwhelming. Many negative reviews on Notion templates found some trackers to be “cluttered” or “unnecessary”.
Creating the Tracker
The physical creation of the tracker would be over the period of 3 weeks, where I’d be creating, refining and getting feedback on what to improve upon. What started as simple sketches would turn into a creative master piece.
Sketches & Outlines
Originally, the tracker was meant to show off the users work first, then you’d journal on the piece, track when to next create and so on. However, creating a “streak” based tracker was difficult to create in Notion. So while the main homepage was discarded, there were many elements that would stay (a tutorial section, calendar section, etc.).
Brand Identity
For the physical design elements, I wanted to be different from the content I have seen on Etsy and Gumroad. Many had pastel color palettes, or were simply black and white. I wanted to focus on deep greens and blues. I used Playfair as my font of choice, as its serif typeface is both elegant and artistic. These options were chosen to help make the template stand out in the marketplaces of all in one trackers with the same colors.
Key Features of the Tracker
Sales Page
On October 6th, the art health tracker was put on Gumroad for 5 dollars. I found this price to be most ideal because many art supplies and products will be expensive. Having the product be easier to buy means users get a good tracker for a good price. Using Canva, I designed individual explanations of what the product does through graphics but also created copy In Gumroad for the user to read. If you want to check out the product, here is the link.
Promotional Material
I also created promotional material to advertise the tracker. I created 3 graphics for 3 different places to promote.
Email (Left): Focused more information, with easy hierarchy to read on any device.
Instagram (Middle): More creative vibe, something that catches users eyes in their feed.
TikTok (Right): Tutorial heavy, would focus on the usability for the tracker template.
Reflection
After releasing the Art Health Tracker to the public, I went to look back on all of the progress. Whenever I got feedback on what users liked the most, I’m always stunned at how little resources are available. Many stated that they “weren’t aware of such creative outlets” and if features like the list or journal weren’t there, then many would be “curious but unsure where to go”. I am actually really proud of what I created. Despite weeks of learning a new product and going through trial and error, I feel like this tracker has the potential to not only manage their health a creative outlet but also do it in a motivative/informative way.
Next Steps
For where to head next, I have a good understanding of what I want to accomplish soon.
Upload to Etsy: At the moment, I have all the sales pages ready to go, I just need Etsy to process my profile in order to sell.
Add physical health features: While the tracker is great for mental and emotional health, I would like to add some more physical arts as well like sports.
Update Tutorials: There are more art forms I would like to add in the future like dance, theater and funny enough graphic design.
